Beijing Municipality: Fuquang Power Plant 2×600MW Organic Amine Flue Gas Desulfurization Project to Produce Sulfuric Acid by Guodian Duyun Power Generation Co., Ltd. under Beijing Guodian Longyuan Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd. It will install two sets of organic amine desulfurization equipment with 600MW power units and build two ancillary concentrated sulfuric acid production lines with annual output of 350,000 tons. By adopting the organic amine desulfurization process rather the limestone-gypsum wet desulfurization process in the original design proposal, it won’t generate carbon dioxide as the latter does and meanwhile it includes the low temperature exhaust heat recovery system in making sulfuric acid, which reduces energy consumption during production as well as carbon dioxide emission. In addition, it avoids the environmental pollution problem caused by the large amount of gypsum, which is the byproduct of the original wet desulfurization process. And the organic amine desulfurization process can reduce sulfur dioxide and soot emission, achieving synergy in emission reduction. Besides, the sulfur dioxide recovered is used to make sulfur acid so that sulfur is recycled. The project belongs to the category of energy conservation and energy efficiency improving. Once reaching designed capacity, it is estimated to cut greenhouse gases emission by 293,504 tCO2e annually.
