Shaanxi Province: Diosgenin Production Line Technological Transformation and Expansion and Cleaner Production Demonstration Project with Annual Output

？？The project mainly includes installing a diosgenin cleaner production line with the annual output of 700 tons as well as the ancillary facilities. The completed project can reach the annual output as high as 1,000 tons of diosgenin. By recycling the waste acid pickle, it reuses the heat energy and reduces the steam consumption in acidolysis; by getting low water content hydrolysate through the high pressure membrane filter press, it reduces the steam consumption in drying; and by using the efficient drying technology, it also saves the steam consumption in drying. As a result, the project consumes about 50% less of steam than the traditional process, and reduces carbon emissions. The project belongs to the category of energy saving and efficiency improving. Once completed, it is estimated to cut greenhouse gas emission by 19,903 tCO₂e annually.
