Shaanxi Province: Road Lighting Energy-saving Transformation Project in the Greater Xi'an (Xianyang) Culture and Sports Function Area by Xianyang City

The project was granted a concessional loan of RMB 65 million yuan on March 25, 2016. It mainly includes installing 14,450 sets of solar energy and LED lamps along 30 roads, including Pingfu Road, Xingyuan Road, Beiyuan No.1 Road, and Xianbei Road. The project uses the solar street lamps and efficient LED lighting devices to replace the high pressure sodium lamps and other traditional lighting devices, to reduce electricity consumption and thus reduce greenhouse gas emission. The project belongs to the category of energy saving and efficiency improving. It can leverage private funds amounting to RMB 147.28 million yuan. Once put into operation, it is estimated to cut greenhouse gas emission by 9,389tCO2e annually.
