Hainan Province: Boeing 787 Engine Upgrading Project by Hainan Airlines

The project was granted a concessional loan of RMB 67.7 million yuan on May 31, 2016. It mainly includes upgrading the GEnx-1B64 engines of six Boeing 787 aircrafts. Through upgrading, it will improve the engine performance and increase the fuel efficiency, thus reducing carbon dioxide emission. The project belongs to the category of energy saving and efficiency improving. It can leverage private funds of RMB 273.9 million yuan. Once put into operation, it is estimated to cut greenhouse gas emission by 9,127tCO2e annually.
