Rural Household Coal-To-Gas Conversion Project in Pinggu District By Beijing Gas Pinggu Company

This project was granted a CDM concessional loan of RMB 69 million on January 29, 2018. It is a project to replace coal with gas for 34,858 households of 88 villages in Pinggu District. It includes installing gas sources, mid-pressure gas pipes, low-pressure gas pipes in the villages and household flow meters. It falls in the category of energy conservation and efficiency improvement. By replacing coal with natural gas, it can reduce emitted pollutants effectively, improve energy efficiency and therefore cut down greenhouse gas emissions. Once put into operation, it is estimated that greenhouse gases emission can be reduced by 96,696tCO₂e annually and can leverage private capital of RMB 777.66 million.
